New Volleyball Mixes blog
So I've added a new seperate blog, accessible from the top menu of my site, called "mixes", where I will post mp3 versions of the CD mixes that I do for our volleyball social each week. I have allready posted the last 7 mixes. The mixes are posted as "torrent" files and therefore require a little bit of computer savy to get to. You will need torrent download software such as uTorrent. Enjoy!

Whats That On Your Head???

The 6th Annual Clothing Optional Wig Volleyball party has come and gone. I got to DJ for a while...
and Ercole got to DJ for a while...
So I got to play some volleyball too!
We will create a yearbook with all of the pictures to keep at the volleyball structure. I will try to make good on my promise to post my mix in the next couple of days.

Striped Feet
It has been sort of a slow month so far. After the couple months of the building project, we are settling back in to our regular farm work, but we are still kind of in recovery mode.We went to a dance party at Kalani this past weekend, and I think that it was the first time that we actually had fun at Kalani. That's not Kalani's fault; we have just previously never been able to get into the vibe there. This time, friends from vollyball who live at Kalani invited us over for dinner after the game, and we stayed for the dance. Dinner was wonderful, the company was wonderful, and while the music was less than wonderful, I had a good time dancing.
We have been trying to find a source of gigs/events to participate in. While Tolver and I enjoy living "out in the sticks", we figure that it is about time for us to broaden our social circle beyond volleyball. There is another regular estatic dance event Kona-side (Kalani being Puna-side) that we are thinking of getting involved in. So we may go to that tonight.
We have also started Tribe accounts. Although I haven't had much motivation that direction yet. I think Tolver has worked on his some.
O yeah, the title of the post: striped feet... I have been playing vollleyball wearing a pair of Walmart sandles lately. They are very comfortable, and the rocks fall out as easily as they get in (unlike with tennis shoes), but we noticed the other day that I now have very distinct tan lines on my feet. Heh.

Wig Volleyball 2007 Postgame
Wow that was fun.So we got to DJ all ten hours of Wig Volleyball, plus VJ after dark. Definately our best party on the island so far, and a nice way to finish our first year here. Thank you to everyone who came out and showed their appreciation of the Banana Boyz and their farm. I have written of volleyball with da Banana Boyz a few times. Volleyball is itself the premiere queer event on Big Island, the yearly fundraiser adds an after dark party with fire dancers, food, music, and the Miss Big Girl contest, along with a LOT of sillyness, fun and play. The funds go directly to support upgrades at the volleyball and party space at the Isle of You farm.
