This is a test

Moving things around on the server. Just making sure this still works. (Supposedly if mine works, then everyone else on this system using the Blogger interface will also work .)

this is where this belongs...

Well so something happened, and I was looking for someone to share it with, and no one was available. Then I remembered the blog, and how that is exactly what its for... hmmm. maybe now I'll actually do this more often... we'll see...

So what happened?! Sorry, almost forgot. I'm published! Well, OK, I'm in Print! um... well. OK someone killed a tree and made a book, and an essay I wrote is in it! cool. huh?

I don't get any royalties but if you want to go get a copy its called 'Hitched!' and its personal essays by some of the same-sex couples that were wed on February 14th, 2004 in San Francisco. (Well I don't know if all of them were on Valentine's Day or just close, but we were, so that's all that matters!)

That's 'Hitched!' Edited by Cheryl Dumesnil, with an introduction by Rosie O'Donnell.

manifest beginnings, part 2

I got started, and then I went looking for ways to organize everything using Blogger, and all I find are rant after rant about how blogger sucks, blah blah...
But with so many other projects going on right now, I don't see how I would have the time to write my own blogging code... and travel down that rode leads to the question of why do I really need blogging code when I could just write web pages and link them however I find appropriate. Maybe that would be better for the manifesto, but then I'd have to find another use of the blog... sigh...

Blogging software, web publishing software, file sharing software, forums software; its all pretty much the same thing with a different user interface. The user interface provides a context. All these different contexi (???) to keep track of, no wonder most of the normals out there are scared of computers; it is an interface onto multiple interfaces.

So before writing this line I went off and created a new branch off my web site to accommodate the manifesto. It can be found @ http://reese.magichelp.com/blog/manifesto.

Is that the idea? I should just keep this blogger post going all day and as I accomplish things, write a little bit about what I did? sigh... well maybe...
